Bennelong nominated for Best Market Neutral Fund

13 September 2010

Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM) has again been nominated for this year's prestigious Australian Hedge Fund Industry Award for Best Market Neutral Fund.

BLSEM won the award in 2008 and was nominated for the same category in 2009. This year's nomination sees BLSEM come up against Fortitude Capital Absolute Return Trust and Tasman Market Neutral Fund for the award. Judging criteria includes a number of performance-related metrics including outperformance compared to peers.

BLSEM is a boutique, market neutral manager which manages funds on behalf of both fund-of-funds and private investors. Employing a qualitative stock selection process to construct a diversified portfolio of paired securities based on relative value, BLESM invests primarily in the S&P/ASX 100. The strategy has over eight years of successful performance history and features nil correlation with the underlying market.

BLSEM was founded as a joint venture between Bennelong Funds Management and Richard Fish in 2001.

The 2010 award winners will be announced at Hedge Funds Rock on Thursday 23rd September in Sydney.
