Bennelong Funds Management appoints new Chairman

28 July 2010

Bennelong Funds Management (Bennelong) has appointed highly regarded industry veteran Bruce Loveday to the position of Chairman of the Board, commencing with the group in August.

Bruce has had a long and distinguished career in the financial services industry both in Australia and abroad. His funds management experience stretches across the value chain, including roles as Head of Fund Services/Head of Sales and Marketing with Intech Financial Services, Director of Hopkins Partners Funds Management, Head of Institutional Broking with HSBC Securities Australia and Director of Marketing with Colonial Investment Management. More recently, Bruce held general management roles with Smorgon Steel and Oz Minerals/Oxiana.

Jarrod Brown, Bennelong's Chief Executive Officer, said he was thrilled they had secured a professional of Bruce's calibre to lead the Bennelong Board. "Bruce's wealth of experience will be critical in guiding the group through a period of continued growth and change as we adapt to and thrive in today's continually changing funds management environment," said Jarrod.

Bruce is replacing Grant Latta as Chairman of Bennelong's Board. Grant has made a significant contribution to the broader Bennelong Group over the last eight years as a Non-Executive Director, with two years as Chairman of the Bennelong Board. He retires his positions with both the Bennelong Group and Bennelong Funds Management Boards to manage growing responsibilities associated with diverse personal interests, including commitments to other directorships and consultancies.
