Bennelong nominated for Best Market Neutral Fund

14 September 2009

Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM) has again been nominated for this year's prestigious Australian Hedge Fund Industry Award for Best Market Neutral Fund.

BLSEM won the award in 2008 and is again nominated with key industry players, Australian Equity Market Neutral and Fortitude Capital Absolute Return Trust. Judging criteria includes a number of performance related metrics including outperformance compared to peers.

BLSEM is a boutique, market neutral manager which manages funds on behalf of both fund-of-funds and private investors. Employing a qualitative stock selection process to construct a diversified portfolio of paired securities based on relative value, BLESM invests primarily in the S&P/ASX 100. The strategy has over seven years of successful performance history and features nil correlation with the underlying market.

BLSEM was founded as a joint venture between Bennelong Funds Management and Richard Fish in 2001.

The 2009 award winners will be announced at Hedge Funds Rock on Thursday 17th September in Sydney.
