Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM) has appointed Michael Baker as Investment Analyst to further deepen its research capability. He joins Richard Fish and Sam Taylor within the business where he will be responsible for analysing stocks and markets.

Michael has a wealth of asset management experience, most recently with MM&E Capital where he was Chief Investment Officer responsible for co-managing two absolute return funds, fundamental analysis of listed securities and generating investment ideas as well as providing input into asset allocation for the business's core investment strategies. With over 12 years' industry experience, Michael has worked in both Australian and international equities for a variety of businesses including Herschel Asset Management, Merrill Lynch Australia, Macquarie Bank and Credit Suisse.

Richard Fish, Director of BLSEM, said Michael's appointment will allow the business to increase its footprint across the market. "Michael is an excellent complement to our team. His in-depth stock knowledge and solid investment background will broaden and enhance our fundamental investment process," said Richard.

BLSEM was founded in 2002 as a joint venture between Richard Fish and Bennelong Funds Management and today manages money on behalf of fund-of-funds, private investors, corporate super funds and industry funds.
