After a fruitful partnership over the past decade, the principals of Kardinia have agreed to buy back Bennelong’s minority interest and transition to an independent structure, 100% owned by the investment team.

At a unitholder meeting on 27 April 2023, a majority voted in favour of Equity Trustees Limited taking over from Bennelong as responsible entity for the fund. Kardinia has also appointed Tony Hammond as Chief Operating Officer and Hamel Strategic Partners as its distribution partner as they transition to their new structure. Other fund service providers will remain the same.

Kristiaan Rehder, Portfolio Manager and CEO of Kardinia, said, “We’ve had a successful partnership with the Bennelong team over the past 10 years. We’re excited to now invest further in our own business and create solutions for investors to help navigate the current challenging environment.”

Bennelong CEO, John Burke, said, “We’re proud to have partnered with Kardinia, and wish the team all success as they enter their next phase of growth and development.”
