Bennelong appoints new CFO

Bennelong Funds Management (Bennelong) has appointed Jeff Phillips to the role of Chief Financial Officer, commencing 12 June. Jeff will be responsible for the finance, reporting, compliance and product management functions throughout Bennelong and its suite of boutiques.


Jeff joins Bennelong from Antares (formerly Aviva Investors/Portfolio Partners) where he was most recently Chief Operating Officer (2011-2012) and Chief Financial Officer, Asia Pacific (2004-11).

Jeff brings with him an extensive track record of highly relevant sector experience. His previous employers include Brand Finance, National Custodian Services, Morgan Stanley (London office) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Finance team expanded

Jeff will head up the finance team, which has been expanded to meet the growing demands of the business.

Hamish Wood was recently appointed to the role of Group Finance Manager and will report directly to Jeff. Most recently, Hamish was employed in the role of Finance Manager with GLG Partners based in London. He previously held positions with Citigroup and PwC and is a Chartered Accountant with both a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce.

Two additional new team members have been appointed to support Hamish in the delivery of finance services to the broader funds management business. Nicole Hammond has been appointed to the role of Senior Fund Accountant, joining from Mercer, and Angela Cavuoto has joined the team as an Assistant Accountant to focus on corporate level accounting.
