New MD for Bennelong Property Funds Management

10 November 2008

Bennelong Funds Management has announced the appointment of Scott Davies as Managing Director of Bennelong Property Funds Management.

Scott brings to the role deep experience in the property industry with over 25 years spanning funds management, property development, marketing and sales, leasing, and project financing and management. His experience has cut across the full spectrum of commercial office, retail, industrial and residential property in all value and geographic categories including CBD, suburban and country regions throughout Australia.

Most recently, Scott was Victorian State Manager for listed fund and asset manager Valad Property Group. He has also held senior roles in the Coles Myer property group and Multiplex, gaining valuable exposure to property development.

Bennelong Group CEO, Alison Watkins, said Bennelong is thrilled to attract an individual of Scott's caliber to the Group. "Scott's breadth of experience is well suited to lead our PFM business and guide us through the current challenging market environment."

Scott takes over the role from James Wilton, who has resigned from his role citing the desire to look for new challenges.

"James has had many achievements during his time with Bennelong and leaves a lasting positive impact," said Alison. "He played a formative role in the initial shaping of the Group in general, and the portfolio of properties we hold today."

Formed in August 2001, Bennelong Property Funds Management is a leading property funds management company focusing on non-central business district commercial assets across Australia's eastern states. It is the manager of:

  • the Bennelong Real Estate Equity Fund (BREEF), with properties located in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane; and
  • the Bennelong Real Estate Value Fund (BREVF), which focuses on value add opportunities in Sydney and Melbourne.
