A number of Bennelong's other boutiques were also recognised, with three highly commended in their categories.

That included 4D Infrastructure for its Global Infrastructure Fund (Global Infrastructure category); and Bennelong Australian Equity Partners for its Concentrated Australian Equities Fund (in the Australian Large Cap Equities category) and Australian Equities Model Portfolio (in the Separately Managed Accounts – Australian Equities category).

Bennelong Funds Management CEO, Craig Bingham, said the awards and commendations are clear recognition of the success of each manager's investment approach.

"This is the first year that all active funds available in the Australian market have been eligible for the awards, making this a particularly outstanding achievement for our boutiques," he said.

"Partnering with the right boutiques is part of our DNA, and over the years we've built businesses that manage funds across a range of asset classes and investment styles. That kind of diversification means we're able to navigate different markets and stages of the economic cycle, which has been particularly important in 2020.

"It was really gratifying to see four of our boutiques nominated across five categories in this year's awards, and for many of those to be highly commended or, in Quay's case, a winner."

Speaking about Bennelong Funds Management's recognition as overall Fund Manager of the Year, Craig noted the strength of the multi-boutique model; a hard-working and dedicated team; and Bennelong's commitment to putting its clients at the heart of everything the business does.

"We're always striving to live our values of mutual respect and open communication – taking care of our clients, each other and the business," he said.

"There's no question the world is currently facing a significant crisis, but with every challenge there are opportunities that follow.

"I'm proud of the way our team has adapted to a new way of working; and I'm proud of our boutiques for their unwavering focus on delivering the best possible outcomes for our investors."
