For the second year in a row, Quay Global Investors has won the Global Property Securities category for its Quay Global Real Estate Fund at the Money Management/Lonsec Fund Manager of the Year Awards.
Quay was launched in May 2015 as a partnership with principals Justin Blaess and Chris Bedingfield and Bennelong Funds Management. The business is majority-owned by the Quay team, who invest in the strategy alongside their investors.
The Fund is focused on the preservation and creation of wealth through innovative strategies in real estate securities.
Bennelong CEO Craig Bingham said the award is testament to the Fund’s strategy of investing in real estate securities at a price that will deliver a real, after inflation, total return of at least CPI plus five per cent per year through the cycle.
“Quay focuses on delivering investors real total returns as opposed to returns relative to an index, and invests through the cycle while also taking advantage of select counter-cyclical opportunities,” said Craig.
“The team continues to go from strength to strength, with the Fund shortly approaching its five-year track record, and these awards are pleasing recognition of their hard work in delivering outstanding outcomes for their investors.”
The Fund has returned 15.5 percent since its inception in July 2014, outperforming the index* by 4.5 percent p.a. after fees and charges (at 30 April 2019).
Quay was also a finalist in the Emerging Manager category.
