Bennelong ex-20 Fund retains 'highly recommended' rating from Zenith

16 March 2016

The Bennelong ex-20 Australian Equities Fund (the Fund) has been reinstated with a ‘highly recommended’ rating from Zenith Investment Partners (Zenith). The Fund has been rated ‘highly recommended’ consistently since 2011 and is managed by Bennelong Australian Equity Partners (BAEP). BAEP is a boutique fund manager which was established in 2008 as a joint venture between Bennelong Funds Management (Bennelong) and BAEP’s principals.

The Fund provides investors with an Australian shares portfolio that invests in companies which lie outside of the top 20 ASX listed stocks. The objective of the Fund is to outperform the S&P/ASX 300 (ex-20) Accumulation Index by 3% p.a. (net of fees) over rolling three year periods. Zenith believes BAEP have a logical and theoretically proven method of generating outperformance which should enable the investment team to achieve its investment objective.

Zenith believes the Fund is an appealing offering owing to its highly capable portfolio manager and demonstrated track record of outperformance. Zenith regards Mark East as an impressive investor who leads a team of six other investment professionals, including a Director of Quantitative Research, three fundamental analysts, a macroeconomic strategist and an Investment Director.
