Zenith Investment Partners (Zenith) has again rated the Bennelong Kardinia Absolute Return Fund (the Fund) ‘highly recommended’, noting that the Fund ‘…is a variable beta, Australian equity long/short offering with a strong track record’.
Managed by Portfolio Managers Mark Burgess and Kristiaan Rehder, the Fund has been consistently rated ‘highly recommended’ by Zenith since their partnership with Bennelong Funds Management in 2011. Zenith states they have ‘…confidence in the ability of the Fund to deliver on its performance objectives given the high calibre of Kardinia's investment team and the attractiveness of the underlying investment philosophy and process.’
Kardinia attempts to exploit market inefficiencies through the use of a relatively concentrated, long/short strategy driven primarily by fundamental analysis. The team adopts a style neutral approach to investing with a bias towards stocks exhibiting quality attributes.
Zenith acknowledge ‘whilst Kardinia expects to generate excess returns through its high conviction, bottom-up stock selection process, a material proportion of its overall value-add is expected to be sourced from the asset allocation/risk management decision’.
